Scope
This policy covers the app GOVO: Kroatisch lernen for iPhone and Android.

What the app stores on your phone
GOVO works without registration or an account. Your learning progress, unfinished lessons, experience points, your streak, review cards, your list of mistakes and your settings (for example daily goal, male or female forms in dialogues, reminder time) stay on your device only. We do not receive this data. Deleting the app deletes it.
Speech output
Croatian words and sentences are read aloud by your phone's built-in voice, on the device.
Speaking exercises and microphone
In speaking exercises GOVO records your voice only while you have started the recording. The recording goes to your device's speech recognition: Apple on iPhone, your device's speech service on Android (usually Google). The provider turns it into text and processes it under its own privacy policy. GOVO compares the recognised text with the sentence on your phone and stores neither the recording nor the text. The legal basis is your use of the feature (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You can withdraw microphone access in your phone's settings at any time and turn speaking exercises off in your profile.
Reminders
If you set a daily reminder, your phone schedules it itself. No data is sent to us.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
GOVO is free and funded by ads from Google AdMob, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. To serve ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google processes among other things your IP address, your device's advertising ID, device and app information and your interactions with ads. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a consent dialog from Google asks whether Google and its partners may use data for personalised ads (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Without consent, GOVO shows only non-personalised ads, which Google serves based on our legitimate interest in funding the app and preventing fraud (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can change your choice at any time in your profile under Datenschutz-Einstellungen. On iPhone, GOVO may also ask for permission to track across apps; if you decline, the whole app works the same.

Age
GOVO is meant for learners aged 13 and up.
Your rights
You have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, to object to processing based on legitimate interests and to receive your data in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. For data processed by Google or Apple you can also contact them directly. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in Croatia the Agencija za zaštitu osobnih podataka (AZOP), Selska cesta 136, 10000 Zagreb, azop.hr.
Changes
We update this policy when the app changes. The date at the top shows the current version.
